First stop - Berlin

Our great Christmas-New Years round trip started on the 19th of December - in Berlin. We left one day earlier to take a cheaper flight. As a compromise we decided to stay a day in Berlin. Sophie has never been there, only passing through - and for me more or less the same, except that I've been there maybe 20 years ago.

Unfortunately, we didn't get the best weather: mostly cloudy gray, and extremely foggy - but at least not cold and no rain.
We tried to check the best we could in the short time we had: Victory column in Tiergarten park, Brandenburger gate, the Parliament (Reichstag) out and inside, Alexanderplatz and television tower. All in all we were quite impressed by the Reichstag, since you just need to sign up a little in advance and everything else is for free, including a great audio guide and the brilliant view. I was rather disappointed by the Brandenburger gate. It seemed tiny, maybe due to the neighboring buildings, which you usually don't see on pictures.

After one day and one night we continued to our Christmas stay: Dresden and my family...
